About us

Originally from Northern Minnesota, we raised two kids and operated a highly successful seal coating business. After moving to Arizona in 2002 we had several bumps in the road but managed to start up Digger Dan's Dirtworks and have been operating to this day.

Our kids are a bit older now (28 & 26), one has kids of his own, but they are both active in the company today as operators and laborers, and our daughter designs our logos & websites. So when we say family owned and operated, we are not just using it as a sales pitch.

My wife and I got married in 1992, two years later we had our first child, our daughter. We worked several different jobs while she was a toddler, and shortly before our son was born in 1996 we started our business Black Armor Seal Coating.

My wife would do measurements and estimates with our two kids while I built the equipment. Our kids were always with us and learned to work hard from a young age.

Through our lives we have expanded our family through kid-in-laws and grandchildren. Our lives have been full of family and friends. We worked for our home and what we have and we enjoy the work we do and the people we meet.

We have been lucky enough to once again be blessed with a successful business and have our children be involved. ALL our children. A couple who live here help us with our work, the ones out of state support us in other ways.
This year we hope to get a picture with ALL our kids in their business shirts and show how big and supportive our family is.
All in all, our lives have been full and successful.
